Trump Endorses Mastriano In Pa. Governor's Race

Mastriano, the  far-right Republican who has embraced the former president’s disproved conspiracy theory which the 2020 election would be rigged by rampant voting fraud, has recently topped the Republican field for the  governor in the polls.

Previous President Donald Trump has endorsed state Senator Doug Mastriano in the campaign for the Republican Party’s governorship nomination in Pennsylvania.

Mastriano “has discovered the deception, corruption, and downright theft of 2020 Presidential Race, & will do something about it,” Trump said in a statement released Saturday morning.

Mastriano, the far-right Republican who is mimicked the former president’s disproved conspiracy theory which the 2020 election would be rigged by extensive voting fraud, has recently risen to the top of the Republican governorship polls.

According to a poll released May 9 by the Trafalgar Group, Mastriano has 27.6% of Republican voters’ help, followed by Lou Barletta, the GOP’s 2018 Senate nominee & a former congressman known for his campaign against illegal immigration, with 17.6%; Dave White, the owner of a large plumbing and HVAC firm and a former Delaware County councilman, with 15.1 percent; and Bill McSwain, the Trump-posted U.S. attorney in Philadelphia, with 1

During the early month of the outbreak, Mastriano garnered a following by spearheading anti-shutdown rallies, and then became one of Trump’s most ardent supporters during 2020 campaign.

He worked with Trump to reverse the outcome and planned bus trips to the United States Capitol for Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally on January 6, where he was later shown in CCTV with his wife passing over breached Capitol Police barricades.

Mastriano also tried to initiate a partisan “audit” of t 2020 election in the Arizona style, only to be ousted of his committee leadership by state Legislature GOP leadership over funding and contractor hiring.

“Fight Strengthen Our Borders, Violent Crime,  Protect Life, Defend our below Second Amendment, & Help Our Military & Our Vets,” Trump added in his endorsement statement. He’s a warrior like few others, & he’s been with me since the beginning, so I owe it to him to be with me now.”

However, Mastriano’s rise has enraged other Republicans, who believe he is too socialist for the local electorate and will be “clobbered” in November by Democratic opponent Josh Shapiro.

As the result, some people have banded together to support other candidates.

Another state senator, Jake Corman, just withdrew out of  Republican primary race and endorsed Barletta

Barletta issued his own statement in response to Trump’s support for Mastriano.

“Throughout this campaign, I have demonstrated that I am the best Republican candidate for uniting the Republican Party & defeating Josh Shapiro, & I will continue to rally our grassroots conservatives in pursuit of our common goal.” “I’ll keep making the point to the voters that I’m the only one who can bring the party together and win in November,” Barletta said.

“I look forward to receiving President Trump’s endorsement Wednesday morning,” Barletta said, referring to the morning following Tuesday’s primary election.
